'Lo'

I've took the batteries out of my scale.

With reaching 50lbs just before Christmas, I was finding myself worrying about maintaining it through the holidays to the point of obsession.

So, now when I step on the scale it says 'LO'.

It is not a vacation. I am still using my points, working out and making good choices. I just need to break myself from the worry of numbers right now.

So, consider this Thursday a STS. We'll see on the 31st if that is the case ?

Picture Weigh in.

Straight on I am having trouble with my 'square jaw ' but the profile picture is starting to show of the 'ski-jump nose and elf ears' I remember from high school. Sigh. I don't think I will ever be positive about pictures. I need to work on self-esteem to go with the 'newest' me.
HOWEVER...I do see a big difference between the person above (who I don't recognize yet) and this person from last January:

Besides, elf ears are a little sexy.

I saw it this morning !!

Unfortunately, today is not weigh-in day and I must be awfully good until tomorrow.

Scale is telling me that I've reached my 50lbs loss this week.

I earn my reward (gotta check back through the blog to see what it is) AND I'm officially working towards the end goal.

50lbs lost. 39lbs to go.

I'm excited!
...and I'm hungry....when is that gonna stop?

Now, how to at least maintain that loss or lose more during the holidays. Fingers crossed.

20%

I've been pushing to lose the few pounds I need to lose to reach 50lbs lost and I almost missed achieving another great goal.

Today's loss has me 20% less of the person I was in March!

20%.

I really can't believe that!

I'm also taking part in an advent challenge and it had me rethinking my goals and how I push myself.

The truth is...that I would like to be done this journey by my birthday next June - but this is a lifetime journey I guess....so as long as it is forward march...I'll put one foot in front of the other!

20 frickin' percent....holy cow.

Moving, slow but moving

It is going to be a long road.

And at least for 3kms of it I will run. Cuz, that is how far I did on the treadmill today without dying! I'm proud of me.

I'll run 3kms for 2 weeks then try for 3.5, 4, 4.5 and the big scary 5km.

My WI didn't produce a loss, however I have topped 24inches lost of my body. THAT IS INSANE!

My goal this week is 30-60minutes hardcore working out 4 days this week.

Maybe then I can lose the 2.6lbs that can give me 50lbs...

Maybe?

Run, run run.

Running.

Does it get any easier?

I have admit that I'm sure I would have died within the first two minutes on the treadmill with the almost 50lbs lost back on. It just seems like my legs become tree trunks slamming against the treadmill sometimes.

I have run twice in the last week. Once: 2.15kms in 20minutes and the second time, 2.65kms in 20 minutes. That means that at my current pace it is about 45 minutes to run 5km.

Can I do this?

I think so.

Oky. Doky.

So I put off weigh-in this week since all arrows where pointing to a huge gain.

But on Friday, confident that what had happened was sodium/water aka:bloating...I stepped on the scale and was down to much more 'acceptable numbers'.

This has also been a stressful week as dd Nixie has a flu - which one our doctor won't confirm - but it has been up and down with a fever, cough and general miserableness. I've missed work, she's missed school and we may miss a weekend away to visit family if things don't improve by morning. Sigh.

Even with the stress, I still figure I should start with the basics.

Today I practiced veggies and fruit. Pineapple, Brussels sprouts, apples, salad etc. Yum.

Here: Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Delicious. The recipe suggested adding Hazelnuts, however I choose not to add these to cut down the caloric count.

I also took our chicken breast (homegrown) and slow-cooked them with fresh apples, broth, garlic and cinnamon. It smelled like apple pie - sort of :)

All in all, on the plate with local potatoes and a salad with vinaigrette it was yummy, had 3 servings of veggies and just a 7 point meal.

Now if the little one would get better :(
